Plaster Plate Dry Point Etching

As to not waste left over materials I made a plaster plate, which I then etched into as to create a composition which is delicately tactile. Intaglio printmaking includes a number of related techniques which are usually orchestrated over a metal plate. However, given that I was unable to collect such materials, I opted for drypoint; other basic intaglio processes include etching, engraving, drypoint, and mezzotint. The process surrounding drypoint is relatively simple; marks are made on a plate using a sharp, pointed instrument. I decided to ink the finished plate after carving the lines into the surface of the plaster, though I have documented the plate prior, I feel each to be a work in their own right.
