Acrylic Pour Painting No.1

Mediums used: Acrylic, Liquidex pouring medium and silicone oil

Illustrated below is the first to the acrylic pour series, the painting is characterised by a systemic-esc appearance given the organic nature in which the paint lies, creating fluid patterns engulfed with a sfumato rendering. Working all a prima came with its downside, it resulted in quite a messy tarp sheet and an even messier artist! However, using varied angles, pivoting the canvas, and blowing onto the acrylic allowed further kineticist characteristics to be displayed within the piece. I would like to implement this process onto a number of canvases and experiment with a variety of pouring methods; such as the Dutch Pour. I favour this pour method given the excessive number of cells and swipes you can inhabit over the course. I hope to continue to endeavor within this field and enjoy the eradication of control, art is a means of expression and fluid art is something that can easily obtain this.

Overall I am quite pleased with the final composition, the acrylic did not coagulate with the silicone and the pour was a success, emanating a smooth texture aboard the canvas. I had hoped for a development of cells but I will continue to experiment with the ratio of the mixing variables.
