'Freedom.' Fine Liner Illustration - Close Elevations & Digital Editorials

The snail is a symbol of gentle and quiet appearance, it signifies the need to be gentle and kind to yourself. It teaches you to work quietly but industriously, and to celebrate your victories with gratitude and wonder just like the manatee spirit animal. No matter fast or slow you go, you will get to your destination. The snail embodies determination. Within the illustration the snail is adorned by a congregation of flowers, the flowers being; Freesia freesias symbolic of freedom, friendship, trust, thoughtfulness and innocence.

The sigil shown at the top of the illustration is the sigil for freedom Each characteristic sought from the obscure imagery conveyed relates to the strength and adaptability shown by the blind and visually impaired.

The first three images within the gallery depict varied elevations of design, providing close ups of the drawings texture. The last two images are digital editorials, exploring mirroring and holga effects, all of which mimic the nature of binocular diplopia and hallucinatory eye ailments such as diabetic retinopathy. Overall I am quite pleased with the outcome of this illustration, though the left of the design does appear to be quite heavy, I had tried adding something to the right of the image (with pencil) but found that to be too much.
