Mediums used: Acrylic, liquidex pouring medium and silicone oil
The third of the acrylic pour series, unfortunately the outcome of this particular pour didn't follow my expectations. The acrylic was not thinned out enough with the pouring medium and had an excess of silicone residing amongst the paint, resulting in a coagulated mess. No cells came from the design despite my efforts to aid the cell formation through the use of my heat gun... instead the centre of the painting bubbled and boiled resulting in a peculiar, porous texture to form. Though this was unintentional, the addition of the seemingly abrasive texture toward the centre of the painting creates the illusion of ruptured cells.
Looking back on the colour scheme of this acrylic pour, I wish I had included a crimson or a pink in order to separate the fluid design more. Though there are areas of definition, I feel a brighter colour (not the yellow already illustrated) veering toward a warmer tone rather than a cooler hue may have resulted in a better overall composition.
