Three series of Lino prints which have been digitally manipulated through the use of mirroring, holga effects and hue editorial processes. My work questions perspective and the relationship we have with it. By indulging in these editorial methods, there is a development of perplexity within each design. I had initially created photomontages which included squid tentacles as a nod to the noted symbolisms of adaptability and diligence. The prints exhibited below are an assemblage of photomontage prints embellished by holga effects, wash overs, mirroring and contortion. I had selected areas of the prints I wished to ensue motion and dragged to the desired area. Each series mimics the nature of various visual impairments. 'Motion Blur.' refers to the nature of a cataracts and binocular diplopia, two ailments which portray blurred vision and the appearance of more than one object. 'Hamon.' a title meaning 'ripple' in Japanese, conjures the fragmentation of macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. The final series 'Lucidity.' rather than referring to a significant visual impairment instead projects images portraying colour vision deficiencies.
The last images shown in the gallery are wall mock ups of how I would display the series'. You can see in these mock ups I would like to portray them in a regular, mundane setting. Though some of these prints may be featured in my hypothetical live outcome posts.
